Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB) is a feature designed to keep you from backing into something you can’t see from your side mirrors or rearview mirror. If you don’t react, Subaru’s Reverse Automatic Braking activates and the brakes are immediately applied to help you avoid any potential collision.
How do you reset the vision on a Subaru Outback?
Press and hold the switch showing one car making another see stars from behind with the words OFF (this is the Pre-Collission Braking System button) fortwo seconds to switch that back on again. If You have Lane-Assist-Switching as a button, do the same with that. You should now have EyeSight back on.

How many miles on a Subaru Rab system?
It has 21,000 miles on it. When I park the car on a fairly steep driveway, then back down the driveway to the street, the RAB system thinks the car is about to hit a solid surface (the street itself) and it locks up the brakes very hard (antilocking braking system kicks-in).
Can you back out of a car without Rab?
I can fairly easily back out without RAB engaging (brakes) by riding the brakes. However, it is harder to keep RAB from apparently “triggering” and thus disabling RAB until car is restarted.

Cruise is disabled if there is a code set, if cruise is disabled Eyesight is. topping off your fuel system can also cause raw fuel to enter your evap system instead of just vapors which could set the purge valve code. those of you who continue to top off at the gas station will continue to see issues.
