What does part time mean on my Jeep Liberty?
Part-time 4WD is a vehicular system that allows the driver to turn on the 4WD only when needed. On regular driving surfaces without the 4WD engaged, it works just like a rear-driven 2WD vehicle.

Why is the part time light stuck on my Jeep?
Look at the transfer case selector lever …if it is in 2WD then the switch is likely stuck. Obviously if it is in 4WPart Time then the light is a reminder ….*not* to drive the Jeep on pavement, and just move it to 2WD position.

The symptom is that the all the lights and gauges on the dash cluster go on and off erratically and sometimes stay off for a few minutes. This also includes the A/C system. As the gauges go off so does the A/C fan. I have taken the Jeep to the dealer now going on 5 or more times and quite frankly, they are stumped.
