What does active ECO mean on Kia Soul?
Active ECO helps improve fuel efficiency by controlling certain engine and transaxle system operating parameters. Fuel efficiency depends on the driver’s driving habit and road condition. When the Active ECO button is pressed the ECO indicator (green) will illuminate to show that the Active ECO is operating.
Does Eco Mode save gas Kia?
ECO Mode. The Kia driving mode ECO increases fuel efficiency. Each model slightly differs but essentially your a can expect increase MPG from the transmission shifting gears to a lower RPM, a different throttle response, and in some models, even shutting off the engine when in complete stop like in the Kia Telluride.
Does Eco mode ruin transmission?
On the technical side, Eco Mode does inhibit the performance of the engine and transmission, by reducing the response of throttle in an effort to boost fuel economy. As a result, acceleration of a vehicle is less responsive- leading to less fuel consumption.
Can I drive my car in eco mode all the time?
Of course you can drive in Econ mode all the time. It adjusts the engine computer to change the shift points to allow for the best fuel economy. It also reduces the AC system to reduce the compressor drag on the engine.
When should I use Active ECO?
If you’re casually driving around town or on the highway, where speed is relatively being kept constant, you should keep Active Eco engaged. On the other hand, if you’re merging onto the highway or trying to overtake slower moving traffic, when faster acceleration is necessary, you’ll want to turn the system off.
Does Eco mode use more oil?
Selecting Eco Mode in your vehicle helps you reduce fuel consumption. In most vehicles, selecting this setting makes the engine and accelerator pedal less responsive to inputs. It takes longer for the engine speed (the revs) to rise. You use less fuel this way.
