The TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) is a voluntary, high-quality, cost-effective dental care benefit for eligible Family members of all active duty Service members as well as Reserve Component Service members and/or their Families.
Can active duty go to any dentist?
You can get dental care from any network dentist. If you have a dental emergency while traveling more than 50 miles from a dental clinic: Get care from any civilian dentist.
What is remote active duty dental Program?
Remote Active Duty Dental Program – provides dental coverage for ADSMs on continuous active duty orders for more than 30 days with a duty location and residence greater than 50 miles from a military DTF. The purpose of the Remote ADDP is to augment, not replace, dental care provided at military DTFs.
Does active duty get free dental?
The dental benefit is administered by United Concordia and is available to eligible active duty family members, eligible National Guard and Reserve members and their family members. It is available both in the continental United States (CONUS) and overseas (OCONUS).

Is there an Orthodontic Program for remote service members?
Orthodontics is not an approved service for Remote Active Duty Service Members. ADSMs should not initiate preliminary orthodontic assessments. Appointment Control Numbers will not be issued for this purpose. Orthodontic care initiated by the member shall become the member’s financial responsibility.
