What causes a gearbox Fault jaguar?
When a gearbox fault is present this means that an issue has occurred in the transmission. There are multiple shift solenoids in the transmission. If any one of these malfunction in anyway the light could be set. Mechanical issues can also set this light, such as broken syncros or possibly chewed up gears.

Can a gearbox fault be a coolant fault?
The gearbox fault is a new one on me, I wouldn’t like to say. I suspect you have two separate faults though but both brought on by some spirited driving. If the coolant has moved into the gearbox you would certainly have major coolant loss followed very quickly by a wrecked gearbox.
