Is uneven camber bad?
uneven camber will just wear the wheels down faster. it will affect the tire wear more than it will your suspension if im not mistaken. and if you want to get really technical, when turning negative camber helps the front wheels grip.
Does lowering a car change camber?
One of the byproducts of lowering a vehicle can be an increase in the amount of negative camber. Typically, most passenger vehicles tend not to exceed 1-1.5 degrees as they leave the factory. Having a lesser degree of camber helps with tire wear and is the primary cause for camber correction.
What is considered excessive camber?
For camber, you can go anywhere between -2.5 and -1.8 for your street application. -2.5 should not cause premature wear.
How does unequal rear camber affect vehicle handling?
Unequal rear camber also can affect vehicle handling. Toe is how the wheels are aimed, as viewed from above. A pair of front or rear wheels aimed inward at the forward edges have toe-in; wheels aimed outward have toe-out. The toe angle for front or rear wheels is measured in fractions of an inch, millimeters or fractions of a degree.
What is the difference between toe out and Camber?
“Toe out” refers to tires that are pointed outward away from the center of the car and improves response of turning. Camber, of course, also affects the tire wear and handling of the car. Most vehicles have slight negative camber, but some cases call for positive camber instead.
What’s the difference between Camber and negative camber?
Camber is a measurement of the centerline of your wheel/tire relative to the road surface. It is expressed in degrees and greatly affects the handling dynamics of the car. Negative camber is when the top of the tire tucks inwards.
How is camber and caster related to wheel alignment?
If caster is unequal from side to side, the vehicle will pull toward the side with less positive (or more negative) caster. Remember this when troubleshooting a complaint of vehicle pull or wander. Camber is the tilt of the wheel from true vertical as viewed from the front of the vehicle. Like caster, camber is measured in degrees of an angle.
