Why do other kits sell jets that are smaller than the stock Jets?
After studying the large horsepower claims of other kits it is usually determined that some or all of the following had been done: 1) airboxes where cut or modified and 2) engines had been modified with cams etc and were not stock and 3) exhaust added, etc. Why do other kits sell jets that are smaller than the stock jets?
Can a jet kit increase the horsepower of a jet?
Jetsrus jets DO NOT use adapters which interfere with precise fuel flow. Some jet kits promise big power gains of 5% to 25% and better fuel economy on STOCK engines, can every jet kit do that? No, Jets cannot by their self increase horsepower 5% to 25% on stock engines. Jets alter the amount of fuel into the carb.
Are there jets that do not conform to factory size?
Many jets are produced which do not conform to factory original. Jets may look correct but the orifice (hole) sizes are incorrect. Many places that sell jets are unaware of the differences hence the trouble encountered with buying jets from different dealers and the ‘used-jets’ bin at the dealer.
Is it hard to change the Jets on a dirt bike?
Changing the jets is actually not that hard, especially on a 2 stroke dirt bike carb. The harder part is the tuning, but that’s why you’re here. This is the ultimate guide to simplify and understand how jetting works
How to increase the size of a jet engine?
4) Main jet: Start with the biggest numbered main jet and run at wide open throttle, the engine should stumble at wide open throttle. Install the next smaller size until the stumble is gone. A general rule is to increase the main jet as long as each jet causes the engine to run as well as or better than the smaller jet in it before.
What does ” jetting ” on a dirt bike mean?
What Does Jetting A Dirt Bike Mean? Jetting a dirt bike is just changing the size of jets and adjusting the needle to change the air to fuel ratio (AFR). A correct AFR will yield the most power, efficiently, reliability, and run the cleanest.
Why do I need to change my jetting screws?
As the temperature changes season to season the jetting will need to be changed so screws that won’t strip and some extra jets will be used later. Many will look at jetting charts and infer from it the jet which is affecting carburetor circuit.
