Is there an oil leak in my Chevy Tahoe?
No noticeable leaks and no oil being burned with blue smoke, etc. I checked the net and found that this is a rather common problem with these engines. GM needs to step up and offer a fix for this apparently well-known issue. This is without a doubt the dumbest thing I have ever heard of with a vehicle and GM says “it’s normal”.

The check engine light is on. It is a safety issue and an economic failure of my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. Bought the vehicle used from Ballweg Ford in Sauk City. After the first oil change I started having to put a quart of oil in it every 1,000 miles. Contacted Ballweg and they said it was common to use a quart if oil every 2,000 miles.

Got under it to take a look. Small oil accumulated between motor and trans. Clearly its engine oil, by the way. I thought it would be the rear main seal; however, a mechanic friend said on and 08 with that many miles, more likley the oil pan leaking and rear main seal.
