Is there a replacement for the CJ7 258 carb?
First of all let me say holy s*%& is there a ton more new people on the forum since I was on here last… I have asked this question before but now am in the process of looking for a replacement for the carb. The Jeep: 1986 CJ7 with the 4.2L 258 I6. I ended up taking the jeep to my mech because frankly I hate dealing with Carburetors.

What’s the stock carb on a Jeep Wrangler 86?
The stock carb on your 86 was the Carter BBD. Notorious for problems. Most guys disable the computer control (search on Nutter Bypass), replace the BBD carb with a Motorcraft 2100 (with 1.08 in the embossed circle, found on many 70s/80s Fords), then do a TFI ignition upgrade (search Team Rush upgrade).
