Is there a problem with the Kia Sorento battery?
2012 Sorento – battery load-tests good, but drains in about 2 days – boost starts it OK and charged battery starts it OK – alternator shows charging – but when left sitting battery drains – no evident shorts. Any ideas??? Thanks Check the generator diodes!!!
Why does my Kia Sorento not start in the morning?
Engine Computer Radio Battery Noise Won’t start My Kia lately is not starting in the morning, I’d did it 3 months ago too and the battery service repair man installed a new battery, afterwards the car started fine and ran very well.
Why does my Sorento battery drain when I Park?
They are usually less than 10 bucks at the local parts store or Wal-Mart. When the battery drains when parked, the odds are that it’s the battery itself. If your Sorento’s battery light came on while you were driving, but before you parked, it could be the alternator.
What to do if you don’t see a battery light?
If you didn’t see a battery light, and now the vehicle is dead when you go to start it, the first thing that you need to look at is the battery. You can take it up to the local parts store and have it tested. They’ll need to charge it for a while, so plan on dropping it off and returning a few hours later.

What to do if your Sorento won’t start?
It is definitely worth it to use an OBDII scanner to check and see if the engine has thrown any trouble codes. It is highly likely that if your Sorento won’t start that there will be codes. These codes will tell you what the computer is saying is wrong with your engine.
Is there a sound when you crank the Sorento?
2016 sorento wont crank, no click or any sound when key is turned. All electrical components work inside the cabin and had the battery tested it is good. Tried cranking with it in neutral and still nothing.
Is there an auto cut off on a battery?
It does have “auto” cut-off. The battery stops accepting power after it is fully charged. It will remain at 100% as long as it is plugged in and is fine. ***Click the Thumbs-Up button as a way to say Thanks!*** Solved! 07-09-2019 01:36 AM – last edited on 07-09-2019 08:20 AM by Cheron-Z

Why does my Kia Charger not start up?
The problem was caused by a loose connector, under the battery, that prevented the alternator from charging the battery. The battery was fine, but the dealer’s mechanics put in a new one anyway….just to be safe. That battery lasted for three years, even with all my OFF-Road driving.

What should the volts be on a Kia Sorento?
With your Sorento turned off, you’ll connect the negative side of the meter to the negative battery post or wire. You’ll then touch the positive side of the voltmeter to the positive battery wire. With the engine off, you should get a reading somewhere between 12.0 volts and 12.6 volts.
When to replace the alternator on a Kia Sorento?
If you got 14.2 or more volts, the alternator is charging fine. If it’s still showing in the 12’s, it’s time to replace the alternator. If it’s producing a voltage level in the 13’s, go ahead and take it into a parts store and have it tested.
