Is there a lowering kit for the BMW F650GS?
It seems that there are some rumours that BMW is now / or will be offering a lowering kit for the 2001-02-03 F650GS (which can be ordered lowered from BMW at no extra cost) similar to that for the original F650 series. Has anyone heard anything substantial/real and verifiable?
What kind of suspension does a BMW bike have?
All of the BMW factory-engineered lowered suspension bikes come with a low seat, but the actual lowering modification from the standard machine varies from model to model. Bikes such as the F 800 ST come with a shorter rear shock absorber and front forks which have been lowered through the yokes.
How do you lower a BMW F650 seat?
The method is simple: Get ahold of a measuring tape Measure your inseam (from the crotch down to your heal is good). You might like to wear your riding boots for this as well. Subtract about 80mm (3″) from that (to account for the seat width) Now have a look in the Aftermarket Seat height table to see what options you have.
Is there a way to lower the BMW GS?
The second possibility, which lowers the GS by a further 30mm, is the lower chassis option ordered from the factory. For this option, the chassis of the bike was completely re-engineered and does not have trade-offs in ride comfort.
Can you lower the suspension on a BMW F800?
(BMW apparently does not offer the “lowered suspension” option on the F800, even though the parts appear to be compatible.) Now, to make this otherwise great bike useable… I can buy the rear spring/damper unit for the lowered F650, and it will likely fit in the F800 bike (I’ve examined a lowered F650 alongside a standard F800)..
