Is there a 5 speed trans on a Subaru WRX?
Hi folks, the nephew blew up his 5-speed transmission in his 2003 Impreza WRX and me being the automotive guy in the family ( though not with Subaru ) was asked to help. Can anyone tell me if there is a stronger ( later ) transmission that will bolt with minimal modification ??

It should bolt right in, BUT most people simply just get theirs rebuild and use the gear set since the gears are usually what’s bad. Also keep in mind that the LGT, FXT and the BAJA and later model WRX 05+ (I believe it’s 05 might be 04) were all pull type transmissions were as the 02-03 (4) were push style, so there is that added cost as well…
