Is the Land Rover Discovery Series II getting spark?
Land Rover Discovery Series II… Land Rover Discovery Series II: I have a 2000 Land Rover Discovery that is not getting spark. We have fuel, the pump is fine, we hear it prime when the key is turned. Crank sensor has been replaced and we have crank signal per a scope. Husband replaced the coils, they are good, wires are good.

Oh – went through wiring harness also, that is good. M & S lights flash on dash, CEL is on when in position II. New battery installed with 975 cold crank amps.
What causes a Land Rover Discovery to go into lock down?
Tampering with the battery while the car is on (running or position 2) seems to throw the car in to a security lock down that only the dealer or someone with a testbook can reset (so I’ve been told by other Disco owners who have had it happen).
Why is the crank shaft on my Land Rover not working?
Once recovered garage say diagnostic test found that the crank shaft had seized. Now requires a brand new engine! Mechanic says it’s a component fault. Landrover not willing to contribute to fixing this.

Our 2000 Discovery was purchased used from a man who did not take good car of it, and was not truthful of it’s previous life, so it’s been rough going. Nice easy to clean leather with comfortable seats. The second row is nice. You can carry adults, but not fitting for long car rides. and their knees will be rubbing a little bit.

The very next day it stalled for the first time while at a stop light. It stalls every 2-4 days only when at a stop or coming to a stop (braking). I had the crankshaft position sensor replaced which caused the car to not stall for about 7 days but now it is continuing to stall again intermittently.
