Doing so COMPLETELY has fixed the transmission issues and it now shifts perfectly and doesn’t buck when I’m coming to a stop!

The power brake booster on a 1997 Chevrolet pickup–in this case, a Silverado–uses vacuum created by the motor to assist the driver’s brake pedal in pushing down the plunger in the master cylinder, which stops the truck. When you lose vacuum, you lose that power as well, and your truck won’t stop as efficiently.

Why does my Chevy Tahoe Jerk when taking off?
The issue is that my 2012 4wd Tahoe is having really weird shifting points, especially in the low gears and it jerks a lot when taking off. Worst of all, when I’m braking and coming to a stop, the car sometimes bucks and lunges forward as if it were a manual and I hadn’t pressed down the clutch.

What to do when automatic transmission won’t shift into 3rd gear?
Check the Throttle Cables. Changing the fluid solves plenty of transmission issues but if the problem of automatic transmission won’t shift into 3rd gear persists, the parts you should check are the throttle cables. A defective cable with excessive slack is likely to create issues with smooth shifting of the gears.

What does it mean when your gear shift is stuck?
Either the interlock solenoid is not working or the shift cable is broken or seized down at the transmission which is common. Get under the car by the selector shaft at the transmission and have someone move the shift lever back and fourth you will see the cable is separated from the mount.
