Is Kia Sorento any good off road?
The Kia Sorento is a serious off-roader but it won’t break the bank. If you thought running a full-size SUV would break the bank, think again. Yet despite its low running costs, the Kia is a serious off-roader.

How does Kia Sorento all wheel drive work?
Unlike many all-wheel-drive systems, Kia lets you lock the differential, ensuring a 50:50 torque split between front and rear wheels. That feature will come in handy if you get stuck in mud or snow. What’s the zero to 60 mph time on a Kia Sorento?
While it won’t snap necks, the zero-to-60-mph time of 7.1 seconds is respectable, and the V-6 even managed to return 22 mpg over 40,000 miles. The latter figure was aided by the Kia’s frequent use as a road-trip vehicle, but it’s just 1 mpg shy of the EPA’s highway estimate for the 4400-pound SUV.

How are the brakes on a Kia Sorento?
The brakes are strong enough to place it midpack in our 70-mph-to-zero test, although we did wish that Kia engineers had taken up the slack at the top of the pedal travel. We never figured out what was going on with the steering, the one major source of frustration.
