I believe there will be subtle differences year to year, but this should be helpful for any TJ owner looking to drop their tank… either to replace a rear bumper, replace the fuel tank skid plate, change out a fuel pump, or make room to work in the rear of the Jeep. The actual tank removal isn’t that difficult.

You are no longer using it for emmissions, so it is simply a fuel vapor filter. The PO of my YJ solved the pressure problem by pulling the vent tubes off the top on the fuel tank…
Where is the purge SIG on a Jeep Wrangler?
The PO has made a mess, the “carb bowl vent”, “to fuel tank”, “can purge”, and “purge sig” are not connected or lines severed (see image). I see the “to fuel tank” line just hanging off. and I think the “purge sig” is severed, the others are gone.

I ripped out all that plastic McDonalds straw type lines and replaced them with high pressure fuel lines and clamps. The 5/15″ hose fits over the nipples with a little lube and some pushing, can’t remember the other sizes though.
