How to bypass neutral switch on Honda ATV?

Look for the lg/r wire near the battery and ground it, the neutral light will come on and the ATV will start. Just be aware that the neutral light will always be on now, or switch it as Mel suggests. I fixed one this way just the other day, although the ES system is still giving me fits.

What’s the gear position switch on a Honda 350?

On the early 350’s the part that is supported in the cases was prone to failure since they’re too small. This was the part that also controlled the gear position switch. I repaired one or two back in the day. You needed to get an updated shift drum installed which required case splitting – a pretty big job.

Is the neutral light on on a Honda rancher?

You have a 350 rancher 2×4 electric shift? It should have never shifted with the buttons if the neutral light was on all the time. Okay, just checking with the te part. If you tap in a ground wire to the wire your upper arrow is pointing to you should be in buisness.

Where is the neutral switch on a Honda Foreman?

There is definately nothing (no wire) near where the neutral switch is. Is that the correct Lt Green w/red coming from the diode? (looks like someone poked it with a tester at some point) and is that it plugged in at the harness connections? Im thinking someones former modifcation is gone bad but i cant see or understand where it may be.

Why does my Honda neutral light not come on?

The green neutral light will not come on and therefore it will not crank. I got it to crank by pulling on the manual cord but it will not start. The neutral light will not light up. I cant even get it to start up by pulling the cord on it. It is in neutral. Any Suggestions will be appreciated.

Why does my Honda Foreman start in neutral?

So to link what toodeep and spock said, most likely your shift drum broke, and a previous owner grounded the neutral wire to trick the machine to think it’s in neutral, thus allowing it to start. That’s why it would previously start in any gear. So find that neutral wire, ground it, and you should be back in business.

Thanks Alot. Check to make sure the wire is plugged onto the nuetral switch. If the nuetral lite doesn’t come on, the machine won’t start w/ the electric start. The neutral/reverse switch is inside the alternator cover (at the rear of the engine) ..

What does it mean when your ATV won’t start?

The solenoid should make an audible “clicking” sound each time you hit the starter. If it does, you know it is getting power, and the problem is likely with the solenoid itself or possibly the starter.

What should the voltage be on an ATV battery to start it?

The battery should read 12,6 – 12,8V. Use a multimeter or a voltmeter to check the voltage. If the voltage drops too low, the battery won’t have enough charge to start the bike. Charge the battery or replace it if it’s dead.

Why does my neutral light not come on?

I got an 05 rancher 350 recently and I had to do a complete rebuild on it because it was knocking. Now the neutral light won’t come on and it won’t crank. It turns over if I cross the solenoid. My question is how do I bypass this?
