How often do you shift a Harley Davidson?
Riding the throttle for more speed but able to release the throttle to maintain 79/80… I shift @3000rpm most of the time. Cruise between 2ooo and 2500.My perception is a little better gas millage. At sixty I use sixth gear. Take it to 4000 to merge into traffic going 65 or more.

The big thing is keeping the revs above 2500 or so (depending on your speed), so as long as your meeting that you’re fine. And you wont wear the bike faster. Some shift higher, some shift lower. Most shift right where you do. Most small cars don’t even like to be shifted below 3000 rpm when normally accelerating.
