A modern (post 1998) Harley-Davidson of any model that is well maintained should be expected to last 20+ years and 150,000+ miles.
When does a Harley Davidson engine cut off?

Why does my Harley Davidson engine stall at idle?
If the battery will start the bike, it is not the reason the engine stalls at idle. You may have a dirty IAC (Intake Air Controller). They get gummed up and will cause stalliing, especially on a warm engine. There is self help tip on how to clean it. Sounds like intake leak if it wants to stall after warm up.

Yesterday (Thursday) I road her to work, going out after work, and home (~40mi) just fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Figured I was in the clear and it was just some freaky coincidence the day before

Why does my Harley Davidson stall when I idle?
It always starts easily when cold and idles well, but after a few minutes, if I’m idling awhile to get out of my driveway, the idle will fall and the engine will threaten to stall. If it does stall it’s hard to get started again, I have to give it a little throttle to get it to start and stay running.
What to do when your Harley starts stalling?
Start the bike cold. Mist the intake flanges with brake cleaner. If your bike’s idle drops, or the engine stalls, you have an intake leak. If this is the case, replace the intake seals along with the front & rear intake flanges. If the bike passes the intake test; have the dealer or your mechanic scan the m/c for possible codes.
