Gotta” agree…..my ’07 Ultra is a total charmer…..18K on the speedo and ZERO problems. Oil changes and an occasional light bulb. 75w140 does do a great job of quieting the whine. Just enjoy the darned thing….ride it with pride! Good luck….. I have an 07 Ultra 30,000 miles on it and love the bike.

The six speeds whined in 1st and 5th, due to straight cut gears, not helical cut. It was the first year auto adjuster for primary chain. It was the last year for the large Compensating sprocket that rarely if ever failed, unlike the 2008-up ones. It was the first year for Touring O2 sensors.

What’s the last year for a Harley Davidson?
Last year for them. Everyone has an opinion. Mine is the 2004 model. It is the year that Harley completely redesigned the Twin Cam. Made the entire motor better. If you check the 2003 motor parts will not fit any 2004 and later motors, including the inner primary.
