How long does it take to get approval from NDIS?

It can take the NDIA a number of weeks to approve your plan, but usually they get in touch with you anywhere between 2-4 weeks. As soon as you have approval for your plan, you are ready to start finding providers to deliver the support services you need to work towards your individual goals.

Is the access request form the same as the NDIS?
On 15 February 2021, the Access Request Form was updated to make it easier to use. If you have started an access request on the old version of the access request form, you can still submit your request using the old form. The Access Request Form is the form you complete to apply for the NDIS.

Anyone who thinks they might be eligible for the NDIS, can download an Access Request Form (ARF), and a Supporting Evidence Form (SEF), work with their GP, allied health, and specialist medical professionals to prepare and provide the information required.
