Why does my Harley Davidson have no fuel pump?
If battery static volts measure 11.6v or less with the ignition on the ECM won’t energize the system. am not getting any voltage at the 15 amp fuse at key on, also have battery charger on while testing. engine cranks at good speed. are there more powers and grounds at the battery then just the main positive and negative battery cables?
When did Harley Davidson start using fuel injection?
Contact us for more details on this upgrade . Even Harley-Davidson’s Sportster motorcycles have EFI as of 2007. FLH’s, Softails, Dyna’s and Buell’s all offer fuel injection as original equipment since 2007 or an option on older bikes since 1996.
How is the fuel pump relay and idle solenoid activated?
The idle solenoid is activated by a 12-volt signal and allows additional air into the intake manifold to increase the idle RPMs. The main relay is activated by the ignition switch and provides power to all components in the EFI system. The fuel pump relay is activated by the EFI ECU when the engine is running.
How does The NbO2 sensor work on a Harley Davidson?
The NBO2 sensors control the fuel mixture when idling and cruising. Because the O2 sensor keeps the fuel mixture at an EPA friendly 14.7:1 AFR, the exhaust temperature tends to be quite warm.
What kind of fuel pump does a Sportster use?
The new Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) included front and rear O2 sensors, Throttle Position sensor, Head Temp sensors, and a fuel pump to allow for closed loop operation. This is the same ESPFI system that prior year model Dyna bikes, with minor tweaks to fit a Sportster.
