How do I manually open my Subaru Outback trunk? Hold arm/hand in front of Subaru emblem for 5 seconds or until you hear a dual beeps from the vehicle. Once this has been heard, promptly remove your hand from in front of the emblem and step back to allow trunk to open .

Why does my Outback hatch not open all the way?
Not sure if it is the same issue, but when my 17′ Outback had a problem with the hatch opening partially, I called the dealer and they said I probably pushed the lower hatch button on the driver side panel and it set to a partial open. I didn’t know there were two different hatch buttons or that if that feature even existed.
