A Mountaineer does not have a dipstick on the transmission; instead, it has a plug that releases fluid and also allows operators to add fluid. The drain plug is located on either the left or right side of the transmission. Remove the plug by unscrewing it with your hand.

The dealership always said they could find nothing wrong with it. Now it is whirring and just stops dead. If you wait a few minutes it will start again. Our warranty is up, do we have any recourse with the dealer or Ford. If not, is it worth a new transmission? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
