How do you check the stator on a Grizzly 600?

Put the multimeter’s positive lead into each of the three terminals in the stator cable’s connector. The multimeter should read OL for open loop, which indicates the circuit is open and hasn’t shorted to ground. If the reading shows a short has occurred, the stator has failed and must be replaced.

Why does my Yamaha 600 Grizzly have no spark?

Had no spark. We tested and found it was the stator, changed the stator with one purchased from Ricky Stator. It ran fine about 4 hours while snow plowing and it died again. Again, no spark. We changed out the CDI box, ignition coil, new plug.

What should the stator measure on a Yamaha 600 Grizzly?

The stator should measure little to no resistance within the coils, but from coil to ground on the engine should be nothing or it would be a grounded stator = no good. If you had a grounded stator it could have grounded the ignition system, but it would have also killed the battery.

What to do if your Grizzly has no spark?

Just wondering. Location: Iowa!!!!! Try going to your kill switch, pull the wires and check continuity across the contacts. Then go to your tranny switch for the neutral safety, pull the wires and hot wire across the two ends = make sure it’s in neutral. See if that gets you a spark.

What’s the problem with my Grizzly 600 ATV?

The problem appeared while running down a level dirt road at 50 Km/hr and then the ATV just quit running. I coasted to the roadside, stopped and restarted the ATV right away. I then drove another 20 K when it once again quit running while going down a hill, I stopped once again to restart the ATV but she won’t stay running.

Why does my Yamaha Grizzly 600 not spark?

Try and check the coil and putting a new plug in it. do you have power to the coil from the cdi box. if you do not get some kind of crank signal from the cdi box then your coil will not spark. remove the plug wire and try to starting it. see if the coil arcs to itself. most will. if it does then put a new plug and wire on it.
