How do I fix my bike noise?
Place a drop of lube on your pedal springs and at the joint in the spindle. Wipe off excess lube. If your pedals are grinding or stiff, you may need your bearings serviced at your local bike shop. If lubing the pedal springs doesn’t eliminate the creaking, check to make sure the cleats on your bike shoes are tight.
Why is my neutral light not working on my bike?
Clutch switches, kickstand switches and the neutral light can all break to cause this type of problem. Try starting with the kickstand up, clutch in, and bike in neutral to see if the motor spins. If not, these switches can normally be bypassed with a paperclip pressed into both ends of the connector one at a time, MacGyver-style.
What does it mean when your bike won’t idle?
1. Engine starts with medium choke and slight throttle 2. Must hold slight throttle and feather choke to keep engine running 3. Engine will rev with throttle, but is rough at times (because it is choked) 4. If I release throttle then the engine dies immediately 5. If I turn choke completely off then the engine gets weaker and weaker until it dies
What to do when your bike won’t start?
Got out the multimeter, checked all the usual suspects for continuity and spec resistance; still no spark. Put everything back together after pulling the ignition cover to check the pulser and stator (which were in spec); Got Spark!
What happens when you hit start on a bike?

Why does my bike chain not run to the bottom of the cassette?
Solution: If the chain won’t run to the bottom of the cassette and shifts over the big cog into the spokes (or vice-versa), it sounds like a bent rear hanger needs straightening or replacing. If you’ve been in a crash or damaged the bike somehow, this is the likely cause.
What should I do if I hear a thumping noise on my brakes?
Do this three to five times, while keeping a steady speed; the noise should disappear, or at least be 90% gone. Then drive the car at normal speeds and use the brakes the way you normally would. If the noise has not changed, you may have a different thumping noise than what I have described here in this article.
What causes a motorcycle to run rough idle?
A clogged air filter may not allow a sufficient amount of air into the combustion chamber, contributing to a rough idle. Bad fuel will cause your engine to run erratically. Gas can go stale in as few as 30 days, especially fuel mixed with ethanol as it is in many areas. Ethanol attracts moisture over time and the moisture will dilute the gas.
Why is the air filter on my dirt bike bogging?
A dirty air filter not only flows less air to the carburetor and engine, but it’s more likely to allow dirt pass by and reduce the lifespan of the engine. Less clean air means the jetting will become more rich, which can cause your dirt bike to bog. Keep the air filter clean, whether you have a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke.
