How can I tell if my intake manifold gasket is good?
1. Check the fuel pressure regulator on the drivers side fuel rail by pulling the vacuum line off. (It is bad if wet with fuel) 2. Check EGR valve is working properly, gasket is good, and the tubes don’t have a leak with carb cleaner.
Why does my Dorman intake manifold not idle?
It turned out to be from the EGR Valve. I confirmed this was the problem by closing off the EGR hole on the the Dorman Intake Manifold with a cap that came with the new intake and it idled fine and didn’t throw any check engine codes. The EGR tube under the valve was cracked from flexing it to get the Intake Manifold off. That was it.
Why does my car idle rough when its cold?
Checked the intake with carb cleaner again yesterday and I think there is a slight leak. It seems to idle rougher when its cold and better when the engine is to temp. Planning on getting new intake bolts in hopes that the new rubber seals will help torque it down a little better.
What are the symptoms of a rough idle engine?
It is possible for you to test the EGR valve at home, using a hand held vacuum pump. Other symptoms: An EGR stuck open may include a rough idle, rough performance at low engine speeds, stalling at idle, increase in fuel consumption, fuel odors, and possibly a check engine light on. 4. MAF Sensor
What causes a leak in the intake manifold?
These leaks can result from a variety of causes, some of which are: 1 Hose wears out, gets brittle and cracks 2 Hose connection works loose 3 Leaking intake manifold gaskets 4 Leaking vacuum supply tank More

What causes rough engine idle or TDC code?
So, should the engine misfire, rough engine idle or (TDC) code; point to an air leak in the intake manifold gasket, following the below directions. A very common cause of a leaking intake manifold is the gaskets and bolts used from the factory.
