Does a trike need a steering damper?
Any standard damper will do the job and they are fitted exactly the same as you would on a bike. Most are adjustable, just don’t over damp or your wrists will hate you after a few sharp bends.
How do I adjust my steering damper?
You set the damper to maximum hard by turning the knob clockwise until it stops. Start the adjusting of the damper by setting it to 10 clicks anticlockwise towards maximum soft position. The final setting of the damper is depending on your bike, the road or the track and your riding habits.
How do you fit a steering damper on a motorcycle?
- Step 1 – Attach Fittings to the Frame. There will be a clamp which will bolt onto the frame.
- Step 2 – Attach Fittings to the Fork. Locate the triple clamp on the fork.
- Step 3 – Install the Fork Bracket.
- Step 4 – Install the Steering Damper.
- Step 5 – Adjust and Test.
