What was the problem with my 89 Cherokee?

I had an 89 Cherokee that did that and the problem turned out to be a wire chaffed through to the point that it was parted, but made contact every now and then, so some times it worked, sometimes it didn’t until eventually it stopped working all together. The wire runs from inside the turn signal lever down through the steering column.

Is the cruise control on or off on a Saab?

My 2003 Saab 9-3 Arc has an on/off switch for the cruise control that locks in either position. I almost always use my cruise control when I drive, so being able to leave it in the on position is very convenient. I, too, also wish that other manufacturers would include this feature.
