Can you remove the oil pump from a Polaris?
Yes, romve the flywheel to do this, or just cut it of at the engine casing till later. The oil pump gear is plastic and even if it does sieze up, it can’t damage anything and you’ll never know it. fill te oil tank? You can, but I would just remove it from the bike.
How to bypass oil injection on a Yamaha?
The challenge on the Yamaha system in my opinion is the shaft that rides on the crankshaft and leads to the oil pump. Simply removing the pump and plugging the hole leaves that shaft flopping around in the bottom of the block. It will slide right out once the pump is removed but there is seldom enough room to do that because of the lower pan.
Where is the oil pump on a Yamaha?
PostJan 17, 2014#12. The main problem, if there is one, with Yamaha oil injection systems is failure of the pump located in an indentation on the back side of the oil tank. Many of you have experienced the tank mounting bracket corroding and rusting so bad, it almost falls apart when you look at it.
What causes a remote oil pump to fail?
Actually the much-maligned pump is simple and reliable … There is no mechanical maintenance to be performed on the pump itself, but the VRO/OMS (oil metering system) should be inspected occaisionally for cracked lines and broken clamps. One of the most common causes of engine failure is water in the remote oil tank.

When to remove oil injection on outboard engine?
Another important note about removing the oil injection on any outboard is when mixing at 50:1 that is the ratio the engine requires at high speed running. At idle and low speeds the mixture is more like 100:1. If you do allot of idleing and trolling the cylinders can coke up with carbon and many more fouled plugs.
