A driver’s license in the United States can become suspended/revoked for many reasons. An individual may face a suspension/revocation due to too many speeding tickets, or for driving under the influence.
Can you get a new driver’s license in another state?
Your chances of obtaining a new driver’s license in a non-member state are probably greater. In addition, in order to be penalized for an out-of-state offense, the driver’s state must punish the same conduct. For example, Colorado has a careless driving statute, while Arizona does not.
Can a suspended driver’s license be renewed in Georgia?
Some states, such as Georgia, are not members of the DLC, but have other systems in place for picking up suspended licenses such as the National Driver Register. Georgia’s website states clearly that it will not issue a license to someone whose license is suspended in another state.

Can a revoked driver’s license be renewed in NY?
For revoked NY State driver license holders who were approved for relicensing following a revocation, you cannot drive until your new NY State driver license is issued by a DMV issuing office. You may be required to take vision, written and/or road tests to qualify for a new license.
