I’ve seen few videos on the regulators but none put in to a Jeep, so here it is. On these Jeeps and a few other vehicles the voltage regulator has been moved from the alternator to the computer. Not a bad thing as long as it doesn’t stop working. As far as I know this is the only way to bypass the problem incase the internal regulator fails.

As to which fuse, I don’t know but if there is no power from that wire I would check the fuses. I think in the earlier XJs that was fuse 11 in the junction block & in the ’04 TJs it is fuse 12 in the fuse block. If the fuse is good see if you are getting 12v power to the fuse which comes from the ignition switch.
