Can a diesel fuel filter be cut open?
With due apologies for touching on this topic before,I have cut another fuel filter open for examination. I have suspected for a long time that diesel fuel filters have an easy life using normal pump fuel. Drained and `opened` the canister type fom one car at the service yesterday, it was clean inside and not one drop of water.
How often should a diesel fuel filter be changed?
I ran the original filter to around 65000 miles, almost twice the recommendation (37,500) and then had issues. Low fuel pressure at injectors alerts logged on the ecu and engine management light came on, then went into limp mode. So I can confirm they do need replacing even if not as often as manufacturers claim.
What does a MAF sensor do on a diesel?
Diesel engines do not require mass air sensors. they do not require it, but some have them. Hereof, what happens when the MAF sensor goes bad? Symptoms of a bad mass air flow sensor As a result, a bad mass air flow sensor causes various driveability problems, including a no-start, stalling, lack of power and poor acceleration.
Where is the fuel filter located in a car?
The where fuel filter is located in your car and the cost of fuel filter replacement. No matter the type of engine you have (traditional or diesel), all vehicles have fuel filters that cleans the oil before it reaches to the engine.
How do you change the fuel filter in a diesel engine?

Remove primary fuel filter and O-ring from the fuel filter cap. 4a. Replace the primary fuel filter (white plastic filter in kit) by snapping a new filter element into the fuel filter cap.
Can a diesel filter last as long as a gas filter?
Diesel fuel filters don’t usually last as long as gas filters. Just like gas engines, diesel injection systems require pure fuel. Today’s engineering produces diesel engines with such high precision that they need more strict tolerances when it comes to the fuel they consume.
What happens if you don’t change your fuel filter?

What happens when I Change my MAF sensor?
When you change a MAF sensor, you need to disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes so the computer forgets the learned parameters and resets to the factory parameters. Then it goes into learn mode and may take a little while before it learns all the parameters of the new MAF sensor.
