Can a climate control system read outside temp?
Actually the climate control system takes several inputs to make decisions on what to do. Yes inside temp is one. Also outside temp., as well as a “sun load sensor”.
Can a outside temp affect the inside temp?
I set it at 68 degrees, but it is too warm. After reading many old threads, it seems that there are about 6 or 7 inside temp sensors. However, I also notice that the outside temp sensor can affect the inside temp. Do I likely have a problem with one or more of the inside sensors, or can my outside sensor be causing my problems?
What are the symptoms of a bad ambient temperature sensor?
When the ambient temperature sensor fails, there will usually be a few symptoms that may alert the driver that a problem with the sensor has occurred and it should be inspected or replaced if needed. 1. The AC auto mode will not work
Is the inside temp sensor the same as the outside sensor?
Yes, I was talking about the the outside sensor that feeds the instrument cluster. A few years ago, a MB mechanic told me (referring to my SL500) that the outside sensor feeding the gauge also had an effect on the climate controls inside the car. However, that didn’t make much sense to me.
Is the climate control based on the outside temp?
Climate control should have a temperature sensor inside cabin to sense the cabin temp, not the outside tempe in order to decide whether A/C should turn on or not. It shouldn’t judge based on the outside temp. Am I right?

What to do if your outside temp is low?
If I then part the SUV for 10 minutes or so , restart the SUV, the outside reading will be low again. The dealer first said there was no issue. Second after I showed them proof of the issue they replace a control board for the sensor. Third after I insisted they changed the sensor itself. None of these thing have corrected the problem.
