Are wippermann chains any good?
A good chain with a reputation for being strong and hard-wearing, and a very easy no-tool link, especially ideal for CX or winter use. Not sure about the colour though.

What happens if you put a bike chain on backwards?
What happens if you put it on the wrong way? It does not impact brand new chains’ performance if you do inadvertently put the chain in the “wrong” direction. Due to wear and tear, failure to replace the chain how it was before will result in the chain and gears slipping.

How do I know which way my bike chain is?
An easy check is to see if the chain has logos embossed into only one side of the chain. If it does, then that side should be facing out (away from the bike). Also, always read the instructions and packaging that comes with your new chain.

Is the Wipperman 10s8 the same as the 10s0?
I’ve easily had two dozen of the Wipperman’s and never had a problem. The 10s8 has a nickel plating, making it similar to a Dura-Ace grade chain, this 10s0 is the same chain without the nickel (wears a little faster).

Is the Connex chain good on the Shimano da 7800?
Shifts fine on Shimano DA 7800 and 7900 mechanical. Warning: The link does not tolerate a 11T rear cog, and for this it loses 1 star. Chain has a slight skip as the Connex link engages the 11T cog, 12T is fine. It’s not a huge deal, but if you run a 11-23 for flat stuff, you might want to reconsider either the chain or the cassette.
