Are there control arms for the Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Our WK Grand Cherokee Control arms are a great alternative. Its also not uncommon for the stock control arms to contact the spring and make a noise during suspension movement, another issue which our WK control arms help minimize. FACT: We use a MOOG Cadillac Escalade Ball Joint.
How do you replace a lower control arm?
To start the ball joint must be released which can be done using a large wrench 20mm to 24mm or socket and loosening the ball joint nut after the cotter pin has been removed. Then by using a hammer strike the spindle or control arm bulkhead to “shock” the taper fit loose.
Is it easy to replace bushings in Jeep Cherokee?
Swapping the entire arm is alot easier than replacing the bushings in the arms. If you do swap arms, swap one at a time. This will minimize how much the axle will shift around. Modified actual Jeep rubber bushings in the control arms for maximum strength and vibration absorption. Ball joints can be purchased anywhere in the world, they are NOT special custom pieces which can only be purchased thru the manufacturer.

You can get a complete replacement arm from quadratec, 4wd, etc for a little over $20 too, just FYI. The poly bushings last longer but have a reputation to squeak. Would you recommend that I replace the control arms, and not just the bushings?
Do you need to change control arm bushings?
Not really but if it hasn’t been done in a while, might as well. New bushings and fresh alignment is always good. Just make sure the new arms are the same length as the old. I bought oem lower arms from q-tec and they were 1/4″ longer than my stock ones for some reason. Thanks for the response.
