What is a valve amp for guitar?

What is a Peavey TransTube amp?
The TransTube preamp tailors the gain level for the desired amount of drive, and the power amp responds to the preamp with the natural compression that increases with the amp’s volume. The result is a line of amplifiers with widely ranging dynamics and natural ‘grit,’ just like a real tube amp.
Why are valve amps better?
In addition, valve amps give musicians more options – thanks to the physics of how valves work. If you overdrive push a little, only the top of the sound wave is flattened. If you push it harder, however, it also flattens the bottom of the wave.
Do valve amps need to warm up?
As a rule of thumb, your tube amp needs to be warmed up for 20 to 30 minutes at least before you can start playing your guitar. Most of the time, tube amps have warm up specifications included in their instructions for use.
