Why is the spool valve on my Honda Odyssey leaking oil?
Our former mechanic (former for a reason) told us it was leaking oil from the cam seal but that is was probably better just to let it continue to slowly leak and add oil every few months. It wasn’t a very big leak.
Is there an oil leak in the spool valve?
My Honda dealer told me I have an oil leak in my 2011 Ody’s Spool Valve (aka VTEC Solenoid) which could damage my alternator. They said they just need to replace the rubber gasket inside the Spool Valve…but it would cost $370!
Where is the spool valve on a Honda Accord?
The spool valve is to the left of the front side valve cover – just above the alternator hence all the oil you see on your alternator and down the front side of the engine. I removed the wiring harness – about 6-7 connections and moved it up and to the left of the spool valve.
