Why is the lift gate on my Jeep not closing?

If I wait a little bit and hit the button again the lift gate will start to close but then it seems it snags something and goes right back up. Any ideas on how to fix this? If you get several fast beeps, closing it manually is supposed to be a reset. This can happens if the liftgate is left open for any length of time.

Why does the back hatch on my Jeep Cherokee not stay open?

The back hatch doesn’t stay up when cold so I have hit my head several times. The front and passenger door won’t stay open when pins or mech that holds door open goes out so have been hit by door, or swings too far and has damaged outside front wheel panel.
