Why does my Nook Color Charger not work?

If I use my 2A Nook Color charger, it perks right up nice and quick even if I’m using it. Any supply problems are due to the charger, not the lighter socket…the socket itself is fully capable of supplying 10A@12V. This would be a stellar little guy, if they had it in stock.
