It first happened to my wife and, after making sure she was applying the brake and that the transmission was in park, it finally started after several attempts. For two weeks after that it started as normal but then it happened to me. Since that time it has been starting as usual.

The brake booster recall was simply to reinstall a new water seal around the booster which, while a bit involved, was straight-forward. Apparently the original instructions for that recall were incorrect and they had to install a new seal positioned further back on the booster so it sealed against the firewall.

Intermittent starting, sometimes takes 20-100 (+) tries to turn key and get it to crank. If I was in a hurry or had a passenger, it seemed to know and would take 5+ minutes turning key before it would crank and start! I joked it gave me ‘car-ple tunnel!’

Is there a problem with my Jeep Grand Cherokee?

A quick scan tool check indicated a lack of reference with the Crankshaft/Camshaft sensors. Both were replaced and yes a DIY can do each. No further issues so far.
