Why does my car take 3 times to start?
Hello – most likely, your hard starting is caused by a malfunctioning fuel pressure check valve, or fuel pressure regulator. A leaking check valve makes the fuel pump work harder, and run longer when cranking, before adequate fuel pressure is available for the injectors.
What does it mean when your car takes a long time to start?
A: Possible causes: a marginal battery, a poor connection in the starting circuit or starter, a charging-system problem, or the battery is being drained while the car’s parked. If the slow cranking occurs after driving (engine hot), it’s likely a faulty starter or poor charging.
What is the cause of a slow cranking of an engine?
Possible causes are a degraded or defective battery, faulty electrical connection, a charging system problem, a bad starter or battery rundown when parked. Sudden and unanticipated battery failures can also occur. A dirty battery terminal connection can also cause slow cranking and behave unpredictably.
Why does my car take two cranks to start?
It is possible that the problem is related to the fuel pressure. When the car is off, the fuel system looses pressure. When you turn the key, you go from ‘off’ to ‘crank’ very quickly. The starter draws a lot of current, and the voltage drops.
Why does it take so long to start a 300K engine?
Sure why not. On high mileage engines (200k to 300k) the pistons ring can wear causing low compression which increases crank time and causes hard starting. This is because the compression ratio is low and it takes time for the engine to gain enough speed cranking by the starter to ignite the fuel air mixture.
Why is my Toyota truck idle speed too high?
A warm engine emits less emission than a cold one so Toyota and other manufacturers put in this feature to help get the engine to operating temperature quicker and thus reducing the higher emission that would have been emitted if the engine was still running cold. My ’89 Toyota truck has this feature too.
Why do Toyota cars rev up so high?
Toyota makes the car rev high for two minutes upon cold start up primarily for emissions purposes… engines produce less emissions per rpm at higher rpm, plus the high rpm helps the engine warm up faster…. thus less emissions. Fine.
Why is my car engine taking so long to start?
If the engine takes more than 4 seconds to start there is a problem in the way of a leak, low pressure or reference to the computer problems.
