Why does my car smoke in the morning?
In a perfect engine, only droplets of water should come out of the exhaust. Fuel and air ratios have to be correct and no foreign liquids should find their way into the combustion chamber or the engine will start coughing out smoke. A fellow follower is wondering why his car smokes every morning but only in the morning.
When does the car exaust smoke on motion?
No smoke on motion when the engine is warm up. It happens for 1 – 2 minutes then it will reduce to normal little steam. If possible I will post a picture of it. Re: My Car Exaust Smokes White Only On Cold Start Up.
What to do when your car starts smoking?
Valve stem seals need replacing. The oil drains down the valve stems over night and burns off when you first start the car. You can put up with it and keep an eye on the oil level or get them replaced. It will not damage the engine.
Why does my car exaust smoke white only on cold start up?
If this just started then you have either a bad pcv valve (dont know if camrys have this) or bad engine valve seals. The white smoke means oil is leaking into the cylinders after the car is parked for a while. Re: My Car Exaust Smokes White Only On Cold Start Up.
Why does my car smoke when I start it up?
Blue smoke can also be caused by poor grade oil that’s too thin and finds its way through the oil rings and scrapers. Cheap oils sometimes do not save you money; they steal the life of your engine. In some cases you do find that when you change oil with good grade thick oil, the smoke goes away especially on high mileage engines.

What causes a car to have white smoke when you start it up?
White smoke is usually caused by blown head gaskets or worn valve stem-seals. At times it’s a combination of both. A warped or cracked cylinder head may also cause white smoke because it paves way for coolant to leak or get sucked into the combustion chambers.
Why does my car have a sweet smoke smell?
As this continues, the white smoke will begin to have a sweet odor smell that won’t go away. Another area that can leak coolant is the coolant reservoir tank. This is generally less common to leak, but it can happen if the reservoir tank were to get damaged or cracked.
Is it better to buy a new car or smoke from the exhaust?
Be warned, the work is very expensive and it could work out cheaper to buy a new car. Smoke from the exhaust is usually less serious than smoke leaving the engine. The colour of the clouds leaving your tailpipe can even help you diagnose the problem elsewhere in your car.
Why is there smoke coming from my car?
What Makes a Car Smoke? The most common cause of smoke under the hood is small amounts of motor oil or other fluids accidentally spilled or leaking from a bad gasket or seal onto a hot engine or the exhaust system. Those other fluids may include engine coolant, power steering, brake and transmission fluid, even window washer solvent.
Why does my car have white smoke coming from the tailpipe?
White smoke from the tailpipe indicates coolant from a bad head gasket or another failed internal engine part is burning in the combustion chamber. A blown radiator hose spraying coolant onto a hot engine will also produce wispy white smoke that looks like steam.
