Why does my car choke when I try to accelerate?

A restriction of the catalytic converter would also result in an overall lack of power, as the more you try to accelerate, the more it would hold back. A faulty fuel pump could cause what you are describing as well. The Check Engine Light leads me to believe the vehicle’s computer is recognizing the fault.

What should I do if my engine hesitates at idle?

A quick way to check the intake manifold and throttle body gaskets: Spray some carburetor cleaner around the gasket while the engine is at idle. If there’s a leak, you’ll notice a difference in engine idle.

What to do if your bike Idles when trying to accelerate?

Clean the carb, run some sea foam through it,if that doesn’t work, try your timing.if all else fails it could be a sticky valve and or a bent valve ( I ran a bike on a bent valve for 2 months before it blew) How do you check the valves. I’m not a mechanic but I can do the small stuff. Lol I have a 89 warrior. I put it in the shed during deer season.

Is the warrior Idles fine when trying to accelerate?

The warrior idles fine. I’ve adjusted to air mix screw back and forth. It changes the idol but doesn’t seem to improve things when I try to rev it up. 2.25 turns seems to be the sweet spot, as far as idol. The needle is where zoom put it.

Why does my Raptor idle when trying to accelerate?

Sounds like the accelerator pump isn’t working, or pilot is partially plugged, or air mixture is too lean. May be a combo of several of those things. When my sons Raptor was doing that, it was because the pilot was too small, then had to tweak the air mixture to get it just right.

Why does my Chainsaw choke when I give it gas?

You have probable ethanol fuel related gumming which is causing the inlet valve to stick open and flood the engine , do you have a manual fuel shutoff ? if so ensure to use it . Get some concentrated carb cleaner and add 2 ounces to your FRESH Fuel . Let it sit for approx 20 minutes . Then attempt to start the engine without choke .
