How does a thumb throttle work on an electric bike?
The red and black wires provide 5v to power it. The white wire sends a voltage back to the controller, which is proportional to how far you push the lever. The controller increases the speed of the motor in proportion to the voltage from the throttle. The black ring is a spacer that fits in the side of the throttle.
What are the pins on a thumb throttle?
The small black block is the connector. Normally, you’d push the three pins on the ends of the wires into it in the right sequence, but that connector doesn’t match your other one. The best thing to do is cut off all the conectors and join the wires directly.
What does the black ring on a thumb throttle do?
The controller increases the speed of the motor in proportion to the voltage from the throttle. The black ring is a spacer that fits in the side of the throttle. It stops the moving part rubbing on anything nearby that could jam its operation.
How does the throttle work on a motor?
