Why does AUX heat blow cold air?
Heat Pumps They also use auxiliary heat strips if the outside temperature is extremely cold. If these strips malfunction, the heat pump will blow cold air. If the level is low, the heat pump cannot transfer heat efficiently. A professional should check the heat strips and refrigerant level.
Can a bad thermostat cause aux heat?
AUX heat doesn’t respond to thermostat changes: Turning your thermostat down to ambient temperature should cause AUX heat to turn off immediately. The home feels too warm: If you notice indoor temperatures over 80 degrees and the AUX heat is still running, there’s likely a problem.
Why is my heat on AUX heat?
“Aux” is short for auxiliary heat. If a heat pump is having a difficult time coming up to a certain temperature quickly due to extremely cold outdoor temperatures, the “aux heat” indicator means that a secondary heat source (generally gas or electric) has been deployed.
Is Aux heat expensive?
Auxiliary heat can handle more extreme temperatures since it uses electric heat strips. What this means, unfortunately, is that it’s more expensive than the conventional heat provided by a heat pump. While a gas furnace is not as efficient as a heat pump, it is more efficient than a heat pump using auxiliary heat.
When should I use AUX heat?
Auxiliary heating turns on automatically to help heat your home more quickly if the temperature drops suddenly. The emergency heat setting has to be manually switched on and should only be used in temperatures below 30 degrees.
Why does the rear air blow warmer than the front?
The rear air blows out much warmer than the front when the air conditioner is on. We have the Auxillary switch on. From the rear controls we can make the air warmer but the air is still warm on the coolest setting. We took it to the dealer and the Tech said there’s nothing wrong with it.
Where does the AC blow warm air from?
After reading this thread I sat in the back seat and tried the rear AC. The air blows cold from the roof vents but when I change it to the lower output, I don’t feel anything. It looks like there are vents under the front seats, but it dosen’t feel like anything is coming out from these vents.
What to do when rear AC blows warm air?
You have to make sure the AUX button is on in the front. Then the rear temp control allows you to make the temp higher or lower than the front. Try holding the lower temp button until is reads zero. you would set it higher in the winter to add more heat to the back. Hope this helps. Thanks. Actually I did all that with no luck.
