In 1991, Murdough established a new toy business called Step 2, now based in Streetsboro, Ohio, aimed at competing with and outselling Little Tikes. In 1999, Rubbermaid merged with Newell to form Newell Rubbermaid.

When should I take Step 2?
IMPORTANT: The Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) exam should be scheduled no later than May 31 of the year you plan to apply for residency. Testing centers fill up quickly! It generally takes 4-6 weeks to get your results back.
Are Step 2 toys BPA free?
Step2 is my favorite brand of water and sand tables, with their products made with #2 plastic and are PVC, phthalate, and BPA-free and are mostly made in the USA.
Should I take Step 2 as a do?
Most DO students do not take Step 2 CK as it is not required and rarely provides any advantage. With the change, DO students will now need to prepare for Step 2 CK, and this will need to be squeezed in with COMLEX Level 2 after clinical rotations are completed.
