The Piccadilly line’s “Mind the Gap” announcer was actually the Archers actor Tim Bentinck for 15 years before Julie Berry recorded it. Tim was born in Tasmania but moved to Berkhamsted at the age of two. He went to Harrow School, the University of East Anglia then Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
