Which Oxford College Rowing is best?
The Boat Club is a really special part of Oriel College’s community and has become the dominant college rowing club in Oxford in the last 50 years. From fierce competition in bumps racing to casual rowing, OCBC brings together elite rowers, complete novices and everyone in between.
Where do OUBC train?
Most training is done from the Fleming Boathouse, OUBC’s state of the art facility on the River Thames built in 2006 thanks to a large number of generous donations, most notably from the Fleming Foundation. Land training is done at the Iffley Road Sports Complex in Oxford.
Where does Oxford rowing team practice?
The club has the use of the Redgrave Pinsent Rowing Lake in south Oxfordshire for training purposes, along with the GB Rowing squad and University College Oxford Boat Club.
Does Oxford give rowing scholarships?
Please note that you must be enrolled on a full-time course at Oxford University to be eligible to row in The Boat Race. Furthermore, in accordance with The Boat Race rules, OUWBC does not offer rowing scholarships.

Every year, Varsity fixtures take place in most competitive sports between the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. The training and hard work that go into the run up to each Varsity fixture are a huge part of the sporting year at both institutions.
Do you have to be a student to row in the Boat Race?
The crews will be made up of Olympians, World Champions alongside those students who learned to row at Oxford and Cambridge. All students on the teams are subject to the same entry requirements as any other students at the universities and to be eligible to row, all students must be studying on a full-time course.
