Which is spark plug and gap for a 2001 sportsman 500?
The Polaris manual says .024 to .028 for gap. The other manual says.036 for gap. I have seen factory manuals have incorrect info before. Best plug for this machine? NGK BKR6EIX. ? the gap on these Iridium plugs is .028″ ? The third manual says BKR5E. WITH A .036 GAP. Would an Iridium plug be better? What number and gap?

They need some serious maintenance. For starters all breaks seam way weak, will slow you down but not lock up. There appears to only be a adjuster for the parking brake. I guess maybe all new pads will help.

BKR5E is the NGK number. Looks like its gunna be gapped at either .028 or .035. The .035 is specifying that you have an ATP 500 HO L/C engine. Whatever that means IDK. The .028 gap is saying if you just have the regular Sportsman 500 HO, or if you have the Sportsman 500 HO MO and/or Shadow.

BKR6EIX-11 and BKR7EIX-11. The Iridium plugs are superior in many ways, especially for enhanced cold starts. Just so happened I bought those iridiums for both this afternoon from Advanced Auto Parts.
